Afraid of All the Things

*I received a free copy of this book from B&H Publishers. I was not required to give a positive review. Thoughts and opinions expressed are mine alone.

Ok now that the housekeeping is out of the way. I received a copy of this book Afraid of All the Things by Scarlet Hiltibidal and can honestly say when I first saw it, I was interested because of the cover.

Once I got inside at first I will admit I thought the fears were dramatic, but then I began to see and realize that I had much in common with her in the way I live my life scared.

There is so much truth in this book. I love that between the stories and anecdotes are hard spiritual truths that challenge your thinking and scripture references to back them up. In fact many of the truths appeared on my Instagram timeline while I was reading the book, they spoke to me that much.

I also like the vulnerability of the author in telling the fact that she doesn’t always live what she’s learned and still has fear. We’re only human and so it’s easy to slip back into old habits, but she also challenges us to get into God’s word and find out what He says about situations.

I highly recommend this book. Anyone who is facing any type of fear should read this and see that God is in control and in the end He simply tells us to “fear not.”

About the author:

She loves sign language with her daughters, nachos by herself, writing for her friends, and learning to be a pretend farmer with her husband.
